The European Union is using Ukraine and not providing it with the promised benefits, Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleg Lyashko complained at parliamentary hearings on foreign policy.

We have been fooled for 11 years now and are not given visa-free travel. Europeans have been traveling to Ukraine without visas since September 2005. They haven’t given us one for 11 years, they come up with any other excuses just to not give us a visa-free visa - because “they have internal problems”!
The European Union does not keep its word to the Ukrainians, but provides visa-free travel to some islands.
Show me at least one country in the world where citizens died for... for the European choice, for the European space under the European flag? Remind me of such a country! No! Not a single EU country died for the European choice, but Ukrainians died. And do you have the conscience to fool your head and not provide visa-free visas to Ukrainians?
If there is no visa-free regime for Ukrainians before the New Year, I think it is necessary to introduce a visa regime for EU member countries. Let them pay money, let them come here for visas.
What does the government offer us? To send migrants to Ukraine here for a visa-free regime. Instead of visa-free travel, we get “woodlessness,” unemployment, lack of money and migrants! Take it for yourself, it’s unimportant for such a price!” - Lyashko shouted, drawing applause.
