“Trump’s inauguration is an important event, I was invited there too. But when people have nothing to pay for utilities, when Ukrainians have no jobs and salaries, then the inauguration will have to wait... If they told me to pay 10 thousand dollars for a ticket to see Trump, I would hang myself faster than I would pay that kind of money,” – said Lyashko.
The parliamentarian also expressed concern about the signals coming from the United States about the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions: “I believe that the US policy should be one - a strategic partnership with Ukraine. Today, when Ukraine is at the forefront of Russian aggression, defending universal human values, international law and human rights, it is strange for me to hear from our partners and the United States about the lifting of sanctions. Has Russia already liberated Crimea or stopped the war in Donbass? There are no grounds for lifting sanctions."
