Activists attached cables to the monument and used a tractor to knock down the statue.
“The monument to Lenin in Severodonetsk in the Lugansk region has been destroyed! Thanks to the community of this city, you are true patriots, I am sincerely proud of you, we celebrated National Flag Day as it should be. Soon there will not be a single idol left to the executioner of the Ukrainian people on our land, our Donbass is no exception. The metal letters “LENIN” were also eliminated. And on the pedestal where Ilyich used to stand, I installed our blue and yellow flag. Glory to Ukraine!" – Lyashko wrote on his Facebook page.
In photographs posted on social networks, he stands on the fallen figure of Lenin. Next to him is the ex-deputy commander of the Azov battalion, deputy of the Kiev City Council Igor Mosiychuk.
As Navigator reported, earlier in Mariupol they decided to demolish all four monuments to Lenin.
