Lyashko: Zelensky is preparing to introduce martial law from December 1
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is considering the possibility of introducing martial law in the country by decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the first day of winter.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and leader of the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Lyashko, Zelensky needs this to introduce total censorship and limit citizens’ constitutional rights.
“Zelensky and his entourage are ready to do anything to retain power. Including the introduction of martial law for political reasons. They are doing everything the same thing that the previous government once did, when the then president introduced the martial law law solely for one reason - to postpone the presidential elections. That's all. According to my information, Zelensky plans to introduce martial law in Ukraine for two months at the National Security and Defense Council on December 1. This is done for one purpose – control over the media. Because martial law is an absolute restriction of all constitutional rights of citizens. Including freedom of speech, property, democratic rallies, and any public events,” the politician said.
He states that he is aware that this option is being considered.
“Because today people gather and protest against high treason, against the leaked Wagnergate operation, people go on air and express their position on the economic policy of the government, on the international policy of the government. The introduction of martial law makes it possible for the authorities to take control of the media, ban mass protests of citizens, limit the constitutional rights of citizens, limit their right to own, dispose and manage their private property,” Lyashko said.
