Russia lovers in Ukraine will have to pay more taxes
Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Batkivshchyna party Igor Lutsenko submitted to the Ukrainian parliament a draft law amending the country’s Tax Code. Reported document "News", implies the deprivation of Ukrainian non-profit organizations (NPOs) that express their sympathies towards the “aggressor state” or justify Russian policies of the right to tax benefits.

Lutsenko proposes to exclude these organizations from the register of NPOs, essentially obliging them to choose one of the commercial organizational and legal forms for their continued existence.
The explanatory note to the bill states that today's policy, when Ukraine provides tax benefits to Ukrainian NGOs that do not agree with the position of Kyiv and express solidarity with Russia, looks paradoxical and unacceptable.
According to paragraph 2 paragraphs. 133.1.1 Art. 133 of the Tax Code (TC) of Ukraine, political parties, public associations, religious and charitable organizations, homeowners' associations, housing cooperatives and pension funds are exempt from paying income tax. Deputy Lutsenko proposes to amend this paragraph and remove “persons associated with the aggressor state” from tax benefits, obliging them to pay tax on general terms.
Such legislative proposals could even force members of Homeowners' Associations and housing cooperatives to take the "correct" political position in order to avoid taxes. Ukrainian NGOs that receive assistance from one of the Russian charitable foundations or, for example, from the Russian Orthodox Church, may also fall into disgrace, the publication notes.
