Any decision of the ECHR on Ukraine will cause a casus belli and the end of “independence” – Tuka
The situation is such that for Ukraine, any decision of the ECHR regarding the claim from the Russian Federation could mean forceful intervention on the part of Moscow.
Georgy Tuka, former deputy minister for “occupied territories” and ex-Gauleiter of the Lugansk region, stated this on his video blog, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia has the opportunity to use the ECHR decision as a casus belli. If the court does not undertake to consider this case, Russia takes the following position: Russian-speaking compatriots in Ukraine are humiliated and genocide is being carried out. We turned to the European institutions, the European institutions did not respond to this according to the legal methods of international law, and we have no choice but... Well, then you yourself understand how.
On the other hand, imagine a situation where the ECHR makes a positive decision in favor of at least one of these points in Russia’s claim against Ukraine. For example, regarding the oppression of compatriots.
You will agree with me that Ukraine, even with a positive decision of the ECHR, will not change - neither the language law, which, by the way, was recognized by the Constitutional Court, nor the law on indigenous peoples, which Russian propagandists are now referring to.
Thus, Russia gets another way to “accept” our country. Having said: the crests received the decision of the ECHR, they ignore it, and we have no choice but to force Ukraine to democracy,” concluded Tuka.
