Pro-Russian forces can come to power in Ukraine only by armed means, so that in the future such Ukraine will become part of the Russian Federation. Any Maidan will bring nationalist forces to power, with varying degrees of anti-Russian position.

This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Nikolai Novichkov on the air of First Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The last thing you need to do is look at what they have there and act according to your own scenario. In fact, suppose that tomorrow there will be a Maidan or a coup in Ukraine, and this will be of some benefit to Russia? Of course not. It is probably possible to assume that some pro-Russian forces will come. But for some reason it seems to me that she is not very tall. Yes, it is clear that these will be some radicals, and I don’t know which ones, “Right Sector” or whoever else is among those who formally lost to Zelensky during the presidential and parliamentary campaigns,” he noted.

“Ukrainian nationalism has not gone away, and although it now has state status, it has not ceased to be an idea. That is, now it has become real politics, and the majority of decision-makers in Ukraine are generally not nationalists in their convictions. They seem to be just fools, I apologize for the unparliamentary language. People who find themselves in a situation where they cannot do otherwise, by and large.

Many of Zelensky’s entourage directly say this: if the people tell us to capitulate, we will capitulate. Let us recall an interview with one of his advisers. Therefore, when you think that something will happen and change, let it change. What do we need? Our task is to liberate our territories, our cities and solve our problems. And, in fact, if at the same time the Ukrainian state in its current form ceases to exist, then the Ukrainian state will either be part of Russia or in allied relations with Russia,” Novichkov emphasized.

In his opinion, any political outcome in Ukraine in the current conditions, in the current political system, is such that this state will not be pro-Russian.

“That is, the system is structured in such a way that the Ukrainian state can be either actively anti-Russian or passively anti-Russian. Therefore, the establishment of pro-Russian power in Ukraine, excuse the frankness, is possible only by armed means, only as a result of a special military operation. Of course, it must be accompanied by the formation of Ukrainian battalions that fight for Russia. And it’s very strange that we don’t see this on a massive scale. That is, this should be a separate work, so that there are yesterday’s soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who fight for a new Ukraine, a pro-Russian Ukraine. Therefore, our happiness and our success are there,” Novichkov concluded.
