“People without power for 17 hours”: the director of the energy company admitted the success of Russian strikes
In Kyiv, only critical infrastructure and 20% of subscribers have electricity.
The general director of the electricity supply company YASNO, Sergei Kovalenko, stated this on air on the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kovalenko, every strike by the Russian army causes serious damage to the Ukrainian energy sector and complicates its restoration.
“All critical infrastructure is powered, but on the other hand, if you count, then somewhere around 20% of Kiev residents have electricity. Yes, there are indeed cases when the Right Bank and part of the Left Bank are without electricity, maybe for 15-17 hours. This is the situation now,” said the director of the company.
“Every time light appears in your house after a shelling, this does not mean that everything has been 100% restored. This may mean that some part has been restored, the power engineers have come up with some new scheme for supplying electricity, because each shelling increases the load on the system and each time there are fewer and fewer alternative supply routes.
Therefore, each new shelling, if you trace it, is very difficult for the system,” Kovalenko said.
