“People are screaming.” Debtors are being disconnected en masse in Volyn
In Western Ukraine, forced gas supply disconnections have begun for homes in the event of even a small debt for blue fuel.
Deputy Igor Guz stated this from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, such cases have become more frequent in the Volyn region.
“People are screaming. The first problem is that in case of even a small debt, what do gas workers do? They come to a private premises, allegedly determine that there is a gas leak, shut off the gas for people, do not ask whether there are disabled people there, whether there are small children there, what the problem is - they simply turn off the gas supply and leave. They don’t explain anything, there are no points,” said the deputy.
“There are not just dozens of such cases, but hundreds. People are outraged because there are different things - today there is Covid, people don’t have money, and so on. Moreover, even when the debt is one hundred or two hundred hryvnia. These are unacceptable methods, excuse me, of some Gestapo. It’s a mockery of people,” Guz said.
