Lutsenko's people are looking for Russian money on Medvedchuk's channel
The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine is establishing whether the 112 Ukraine TV channel is financed by the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced this today at a meeting in Lviv with students of the Catholic University, the press service of the GPU reports.
“Is there Russian money there? We are doing this. And I think there will be a result,” Lutsenko said.
He noted that the name of this TV channel “begins with one.”
On October 4, the Verkhovna Rada adopted resolution No. 9157. The resolution recommends that the National Security and Defense Council make a decision on the application of personal special economic and other sanctions against a number of legal entities. In particular, it is proposed to introduce sanctions against the TV channels “112 Ukraine” and “NEWSONE” and a number of other media outlets.
Later, the Rada did not support draft resolution No. 9157-P on the cancellation of the Verkhovna Rada’s decision of October 4 on the adoption as a whole of the draft resolution “On the approval of proposals for the use of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)” (registration No. 9157).
According to Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Parubiy, the resolution will be submitted to the President of Ukraine for consideration and preparation for the next meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
