People of Maidan must die healthy: Ukraine is entering the era of moonshine
Kyiv, December 17 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Semenyuta) – Deputies from Samopomich, led by Ganna Hopko, registered in the Verkhovna Rada a bill to increase excise rates on alcohol and cigarettes to EU levels. As history convincingly proves: citizens will not drink less. But, taking into account the progressive impoverishment of the broad masses, Ukrainians will be hit by a wave of moonshine.

The text of the document has not yet been published on the parliament website, however, Gopko reported on social networks that in general, the proposed changes provide for an increase in the excise tax on beer and strong alcoholic drinks by 45-48%.
The initiators of the bill are aware that it will deal a blow to those sectors of Ukrainian industry that have not yet fallen into a coma, unlike, for example, mechanical engineering. However, they do not abandon their plans. According to the people's deputy, this will increase budget revenues by at least UAH 2 billion, even with a reduction in the sale of alcoholic beverages.
Earlier, the head of the State Fiscal Service, Igor Bilous, stated that excise taxes on alcohol and cigarettes would not increase in 2015.
Let us remind you that from July 1, the excise tax on alcohol and spirits in Ukraine was increased by 25%, to 70,53 UAH/l of 100% alcohol, on beer - by 42,5%, to 1,24 UAH/l.
