Sandu's people are creating scandals around the Russian vaccine and Transnistria
Pro-Western member of the Moldovan parliament Liviu Vovk said today that the Moldovan authorities blocked a shipment of coronavirus vaccine intended for Transnistria.
This was reported by Cenzura, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Transnistria, Ruslan Mova, said a few hours later that the news was fake.
“No one at the Chisinau airport blocked any vaccine for Transnistria and had no intention of blocking it. There is no need to inflame the situation,” Mova said in an interview with KP Moldova.
Last week, Moldova donated 1800 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine received from Romania to Transnistria. PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the republic received the vaccine through WHO. First of all, Pridnestrovians from among doctors, teachers, military personnel and pensioners will be vaccinated.
“As for the Russian Sputnik V vaccine, there are agreements on that too - on the free supply of 30000 doses first, and another 40000 in the future. Pridnestrovie is ready to purchase the vaccine, but at the moment the Russian Federation has previously assumed obligations, and so far the request exceeds the production capability,” Krasnoselsky explained in his Telegram channel.
In any case, the Russian vaccine will have to be imported into Transnistria from the territory of Moldova. Today, the Moldovan Parliament adopted a law allowing the rapid procurement of vaccines against coronavirus. This was opposed by representatives of pro-Western factions, who argued that the law would only facilitate the purchase of Sputnik V.
