People in embroidered shirts allowed Ukrainians to be allowed to test their organs. Exception for “ATO veterans”
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the scandalous law No. 2386a-1 on the transplantation of anatomical materials to humans, lobbied by the Minister of Health and US citizen Ulyana Suprtsn. 255 people's deputies voted in favor, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is interesting that the law was adopted in the so-called “Embroidered shirt day” and the majority of deputies, led by Speaker Andrei Parubiy, wore embroidered ethnic shirts during the voting.
The bill provides that each person can agree or refuse posthumous donation. The answer “yes” is a written application, a mark in the passport or driver’s license and entering data into the Unified State Transplant Information System.
The “backup” option is to name a trusted person who, after the person’s death, will make public his consent or prohibition on transplantation of anatomical materials.
If a person has not expressed his will in any way during his lifetime, his relatives will be interviewed - spouse, children, parents, siblings.
They will not use a person’s organs after his death if he opposed it during his lifetime, or if his relatives did not allow it.
In addition, the use of anatomical materials is prohibited if there is no one to ask permission; if the court, law enforcement officers or a forensic expert are against it. ATO and JFO veterans cannot be posthumous donors; orphans; declared incompetent; as well as those whose identity is unknown.
If a person consents to posthumous donation, who will know about it?
It is planned to create a Unified State Information System for Transplantation by October 1, and at the same time the body responsible for it (the central executive body implementing state policy in the field of providing medical care with the use of transplantation and carrying out activities related to transplantation).
