The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a resolution to appeal to the leadership and OSCE participating countries to recognize the presidential elections of the Russian Federation as illegitimate.

“Unfortunately, the organization that monitors elections and the OSCE have submitted their second report without indicating that Crimea is Ukrainian, citing the fact that, supposedly, there is no consensus among the OSCE participating countries on the status of this territory, although it is clear that is about only one country. That is why we must now send a targeted application to this organization. This statement should become the basis, including for our parliamentary delegation, which will work in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Berlin in July, where important issues will be raised and they will demand, among other things, a report from the OSCE both on this topic and on the work of the OSCE SMM . The last thing I want to say: yesterday in Minsk our Ukrainian delegation raised the question and demanded that the OSCE provide information on why the Wagner group was now in Donbass during May 9? We demand that our OSCE partners be honest with Ukraine, indicate these facts, but also record that Crimea is Ukrainian, and these elections were rigged. I express my gratitude to my colleagues who signed this statement,” said First Deputy Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament Irina Gerashchenko.

This initiative was also supported by Popular Front deputy Maxim Burbak, who said that there can only be one OSCE decision on this issue.

“I am addressing our Western colleagues from the OSCE. A report on monitoring the so-called elections in Russia should consist of one sentence - “These elections are illegitimate.” They were held illegally in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine in Crimea, they were carried out with multiple falsifications, intimidation of our Ukrainian citizens and forcing them to vote for an illegitimate president.

This report should form the basis for expanding and introducing new sectoral sanctions against Russia for holding the so-called elections of the Tsars of Russia, for the illegal construction of the Kerch Bridge, for the arrests of our fishermen in the Sea of Azov, for building Nord Stream 2 and wanting to Europe in a gas loop. For all this there must be a harsh reaction from our Western partners around the world - full sanctions against Russia so that everyone understands that this is an aggressor country with which it is impossible to negotiate,” he said.

By the votes of the majority of deputies, the decision to send the appeal to the OSCE was made.

Let us add that this resolution was adopted in the so-called “embroidery day”, when the majority of deputies, led by Speaker Andrei Parubiy, came to work in embroidered rural shirts.
