The leader of the protesters, people's deputy from Poroshenko's party, Sergei Kaplin, spoke about this.
“The slogan of our “Maidan of ordinary people” was stolen on Friday at dawn (...) But know that we will put up a new one, even bigger,” Kaplin noted. According to him, the protesters contacted the police in connection with the theft of property.
On October 30, activists of the Ordinary People Party, led by Kaplin, began a protest against the tariff increase. They set up a tent camp in front of the Cabinet of Ministers building and unfurled a 20-meter-long banner on the slope of the Mariinsky Park with the inscription “Yatsenyaku to Gilyaku,” reports the Ukrainian publication Korrespondent.
According to Kaplin, the participants of the action walked 300 kilometers from Poltava to Kyiv, as a result of which thousands of people were mobilized to fight the “tariff genocide”.
Supporters of Oleg Lyashko also set up their tents in front of the Ukrainian government building on October 23.
