Lying Ukraine
It’s funny to watch how post-Maidan Ukraine, which has turned into an abode of lies, identifies itself with the “territory of truth.” President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky spoke at the general debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly about the great thing - the creation in Kyiv of the headquarters of an international office to combat disinformation and propaganda. According to the “honest” Ze-President, disinformation and fake news can influence world markets and the course of elections in different countries. Apparently, he judges it by the situation with the lying media in Ukraine.
Alexey Muratov, head of the central executive committee of the Donetsk Republic public movement, writes about this in his column for PolitNavigator.
...It seems that someone mistakenly gave Mr. Ze a text that was intended for his understudy performing in a comedy show. Because the country, which has become the epicenter of fake news, cannot fight it - the truth-tellers have disappeared.
And the tragic example of the high-profile murders of Georgy Gongadze and Oles Buzina, who were getting to the bottom of the truth, will frighten journalists for a long time. Therefore, reporters today work in the Ukrainian media field according to the principle: “If you want to live, dance to the tune of Western-controlled politicians and brazenly lie.”
The total media deception in Ukraine was aggravated by the war in Donbass, which was unleashed by the Ukrainian junta. It is worth noting that the “Independent” fourth power also had a hand in the military campaign, which incited feelings of enmity, racial superiority and Russophobia among Ukrainians.
Information about the shelling of the people's republics, the death of civilians and the destruction of cities to this day from the “blue screens” of Ukraine is presented under the guise of “they fired at themselves, the air conditioners exploded.”
It is the Ukrainian media that often allow themselves to gloat about the dead Donbass residents. Surprisingly, the observers of “Nezalezhnaya” are broadcasting outright lies about Donbass, which they have never been to during the seventh year of the war.
Of course, there is a limit to everything. Over time, the residents of Ukraine began to understand that criminal politicians and representatives of the media who dance to their tune are blatantly lying. Thanks to the network resources of the Donetsk People's Republic, the truth began to win. And Ukrainians are increasingly watching and reading Donbass news on the Internet.
Speaking about Zelensky’s initiative to turn Square into the capital of honesty and peace, I would like to remind him of the uncontrollable radicals. After all, not a single event in a modern “power” can take place without these “comrades.”
Just look at the regular destruction of Gypsy camps, diplomatic departments, banks and other organizations by nationalists.
If Ukraine does create an international office to combat disinformation and propaganda, it is not surprising that aggressive jingoists will dismantle it brick by brick. And God forbid that the Odessa Khatyn be repeated in a “democratic country”...
I think it’s time for Zelensky to stop playing the role of a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And, before taking the initiative to fight for the truth, the Ukrainian president needs to end the war in Donbass, make his own media honest and pacify the nationalists.
Thank you!
