“The Spanish Senate has approved proposals to take control of Catalonia after the Catalan parliament voted for independence,” the report said.
As is known, Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution allows the central government to take coercive measures to ensure that an autonomous region fulfills its constitutional obligations.
As the BBC reports on Twitter, citing Spanish media, Rajoy will hold an extraordinary government meeting in the coming hours.
