Radical nationalists will start Maidan against Poroshenko
Petro Poroshenko may try to be re-elected for a second term by using administrative resources, but in response to falsifications, radical Ukrainian nationalists may organize something like a new Maidan.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Poroshenko has a colossal administrative, financial and information resource. Poroshenko's resource base is greater than that of all other candidates combined today. And we know well how in Ukrainian conditions this is converted into electoral points. Whether Poroshenko’s team will be able to take advantage of this is another question. For now this is a hypothetical assumption, but most likely the only forces that can organize some semblance of Maidan are right-wing radical groups. I don’t see such a power wing in Batkivshchyna and the potential to shake up the situation. But the ultra-right, indeed, they can arrange it,” Zolotarev said.
