Maidan in Russia is canceled
Mass protests in Russia are unlikely; Russians are not going to take part in them. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the foreign agent Levada Center.
Three quarters of respondents believe that protests in their population center are unlikely. 17% of respondents consider mass actions possible. Even more (80%) do not believe in the likelihood of political actions; 12% do.
If such actions do begin, 86% of respondents do not intend to take part in them, and 88% will not go to political actions. 8 and 6%, respectively, will take part in demonstrations.
The overwhelming majority of respondents (88%) had not heard anything about any protests in their locality, 12% had heard about something like that from various sources.
The survey was conducted on March 23–27, 2018, using a representative all-Russian sample of urban and rural population of 1600 people aged 18 years and older in 136 settlements, 52 constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
