Maidan in Sevastopol disrupted the governor's speech
A recording of the scandal that erupted the day before in the Tauride Chersonesos reserve was made public on the Internet, when Governor Sergei Menyailo announced the appointment of a new director - priest Sergius Khalyuta, rector of the Vladimir Cathedral located here.

Scientists, shouting down the governor, said that they do not intend to work under the leadership of a priest, there is a conflict of interest with the Church, archaeologists do not agree with the transformation of Chersonesus towards a spiritual center, they will complain to Vladimir Putin and threaten to go on strike.
In response, Menyailo was forced to note that the behavior of scientists resembles rallies and a way of resolving issues “like in one neighboring state.” According to the governor, criminal cases have been opened against one of the former directors of Khersones, Leonid Zhunko, for the theft of the reserve’s land. Menyailo did not rule out the initiation of criminal cases against Father Sergius’ predecessor, Andrei Kulagin.
It is interesting that at the same time, representatives of the team began to defend Zhunko.
“I will not cancel my decision. Decision is made. Religion has been engaged in science from time immemorial,” summed up Menyailo, but in response, the assembled employees of the reserve burst into screams, not allowing the newly appointed director to speak.
