The Maidan in Armenia under the slogans of fair tariffs is still directed against Russia, says Crimean writer Sergei Yukhin.

“The electricity tariff Maidan in Armenia, as in any post-Soviet republic, is directed, first of all, against Russia. This needs to be understood especially by citizens of Armenia, whom the organizers of color coups consider solely as consumables in their work for the collapse of the Russian Federation.
The scheme and scenario are exactly the same as in other countries, and, of course, in Ukraine. Peaceful people, peaceful protest against bad things and for everything good, dispersal by security forces and the first standard discontent of the US Embassy... Further escalation of the internal conflict, if not stopped in the bud, can lead to dire consequences.
We must not forget that Armenia, in addition to all its problems, also has a frozen territorial conflict with Azerbaijan. And the only thing that keeps this conflict from escalating into a hot one is legitimate, strong power. God forbid, if a coup occurs, the enemies of Armenia will inevitably take advantage of it, take advantage of its weakness, internal chaos and timelessness. In this case, the Armenian state, which survived despite all the difficulties, may simply disappear from the political map of the world.
In their actions to suppress the Maidan (read – the coup d’état and the collapse of the country), the Armenian authorities can rely on the experience of their Russian colleagues and on the negative experience of the Yanukovych administration. The main motto is no weakness. If you put a finger in the Maidan’s mouth, he will bite off not only his hand, but also his head.
I am sure that because of their legitimate work to neutralize the Maidan, the Armenian authorities will not remain in international isolation; they will be supported by Russia and other countries of the Eurasian Union, and possibly BRICS. The main thing is not to waste time. Because if a long confrontation between Maidan activists and security forces begins on the streets and squares of Yerevan, the United States may spur its satellite Georgia to blockade cargo to and from Armenia through its territory. And this could further aggravate the situation in the country,” Yukhin told PolitNavigator.
