Maidan activists got into trouble twice in a day with the case of “Yanukovych’s treason”
A protocol of the interrogation of State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov, killed by a killer in Kyiv, appeared in the Ukrainian media. The published documents contradict the official position of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, as well as the military prosecutor's office, which is that Viktor Yanukovych's letter to Vladimir Putin became the reason for legalizing the entry of Russian troops into Crimea.
According to Voronenkov’s testimony, the decision to send Russian troops to Ukraine was made before Yanukovych’s letter to Putin became known.
About this, as reported Agency "Ukrainian News", writes Kiev journalist Alena Lunkova in her blog.

In particular, the protocol on behalf of Voronenkov states that “the decision to convene the Federation Council was made earlier than Yanukovych’s appeal arrived: invitations were sent out and members of the Federation Council were called as early as February 28.”
Voronenkov also notes that he was not at his workplace at the time of voting, but at the same time his card, “which was at the workplace, somehow participated in the voting.”
“Thus, the valuable witness, as he was previously called in the Prosecutor General’s Office, was not actually at his workplace during the voting, and he provides many facts with reference to the media and colleagues,” Ukrainian News notes.
The publication also recalls that the security of the “valuable witness” was provided by the state. “However, this did not save Denis Voronenkov from being killed by a killer in the center of Kyiv in broad daylight,” the material summarizes.
