Maidan workers are preparing to demolish another large enterprise in Ukraine
Deputy Director of Ukrposhta Alexander Chernyavsky announced the critical financial condition of the enterprise, which jeopardizes the fate of about 25 thousand employees in 6 thousand branches.
“Most likely, Ukrposhta will really be driven to bankruptcy, and then be pulled apart into pieces, as has happened to us more than once. Ukrposhta has a lot of property - warehouses, branches, a mail processing and delivery system, etc. It is a huge corporation. I think a plan is being prepared to destroy it, for which it needs to be bankrupt, like the same “Odessa Portside”. To do this, as always, they manipulate the team: there is no money for salaries and so on. People don't understand anything. Since there is no money for salaries, it is necessary either to increase prices for services or to receive money from the state. This is a veiled raider combination of the ruling Poroshenko clan. I think Kononenko is behind this, this is his paraphry,” Ukrainian economist Oleg Soskin comments on the situation to PolitNavigator.
His colleague, economist Alexander Okhrimenko, puts forward a slightly different version.
Ukrposhta claims a “difficult situation”, but the NBU website has completely different data. According to NBU calculations, the profitability of Ukrposhta is 134%. This is a very good indicator. But everything is not enough for them. It’s just profitable for Ukrposhta to show that everything is bad in order to give them money. “Ukrposhta” is a state monopoly, and in a state monopoly it is very convenient to steal. Why did Ukrposhta start talking about a “critical situation”? They really hope that now the Ministry of Finance will issue bonds, increase the capital of Ukrposhta, the NBU will make an issue, issue money (and do it at the expense of the budget, i.e. all of us), they will receive the money and steal it,” he said “ Politnavigator".
Okhrimenko noted that Ukrposhta, like earlier Ukrzaliznytsia, was headed by a foreign citizen after Euromaidan. If a Pole was put in charge of the transport monopoly, then US citizen Igor Smilyansky, a representative of the Ukrainian diaspora in America, became the curator of postal services.
“The scheme has already been worked out at Ukrzaliznitsa. Everyone has heard about the scandals with their tenders, everyone understands that they stole when this Pole was in charge. He sat there as a “wedding general,” and his deputies stole. The same thing is happening now at Ukrposhta. They invite not just a Varangian, but a notorious clown who does not understand anything. He gets a good salary, signs everything, but the deputies steal,” Okhrimenko explained.
