Maidan activists are preparing for criminal prosecution of ex-Minister of Energy Boyko
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine opened two pre-trial investigations into the application that the Maidan Self-Defense deputy group submitted to the Prosecutor General's Office. Deputies accuse their colleagues from the “Opposition Bloc” (ex-head of the Ministry of Energy Yuriy Boyko and ex-head of Naftogaz Evgeniy Bakulin) and the “Will of the People” deputy group (Yaroslav Moskalenko, Igor Eremeev, Alexander Onishchenko) of fraud.

According to deputy Andrei Levus, a representative of the Maidan Self-Defense association, the Prosecutor General's Office reported that it had opened two pre-trial investigations under Article 191 of the Criminal Code. The first is in the case of the so-called “Boyko towers” (purchase of drilling rigs at an inflated price), and the second – in the case of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.
According to Levus, deputies of the Maidan Self-Defense informed the Prosecutor General’s Office that they are taking these cases under their control and will personally ensure that the perpetrators are punished.
Let us recall that in 2010-11, when Yuri Boyko headed the Ministry of Energy, the state company Chernomorneftegaz purchased drilling rigs for gas production on the Black Sea shelf. Then the opposition stated that this was done at inflated prices, and as a result of this, the country's budget suffered damage in the amount of UAH 200 million.
