Maidan activists are starting to get annoyed: the EU smiles sweetly, but does not give a visa-free regime to Ukraine
The European Union has already “smiled sweetly” several times, but has delayed the deadline for granting Ukraine a visa-free regime. This was admitted on TV channel 112 by MP Anna Gopko, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Affairs.
According to her, Ukraine should already demand a visa-free regime, and not beg for it.

“We now need to show that we are moving on the path of reform and demand from them not to put Ukraine on a par with Georgia, Kosovo, and Turkey. We deserve it, we have accomplished everything, so please give us a specific date - we want to get it this year, preferably, the final decision will be made in September at the latest.
When you hear their various excuses or grins that everything will happen, but when you ask the question - “so when?”, European partners say - “You see, we now have Brexit, we need to say clearly - we understand your internal problems, but A strong Ukraine with a visa-free regime will also strengthen the European Union.
Citizens were promised already in 2015 at the Eastern Partnership summit, which took place in Riga in May, then the Ukrainian parliament took another year to adopt all the necessary criteria. I think on the Ukrainian side, there is now a clear understanding that fooling our own citizens... is unacceptable,” Gopko said.
