Maidan activists demand Kivalov’s dismissal
Kyiv, August 10 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) – For six months, the Ukrainian government has not bothered to engage in lustration of power. A striking example of this is Sergei Kivalov, who still represents Ukraine in the Venice Commission, said the head of the public lustration committee Yegor Sobolev on Hromadske TV.

“I don’t know how much more President Poroshenko needs to say about Sergei Kivalov, who represents Ukraine in the Venice Commission even 6 months after the Maidan. I have a question for “UDAR”, “Svoboda” and “Batkivshchyna”: on what basis did you not dismiss Kivalov from the main commission for ensuring justice in 6 months, which deals in particular with the appointment of judges. Kivalov keeps his judges to this day because someone supports Kivalov. How many more people must these judges break for us to get rid of Kivalov?” says Sobolev.
Egor Sobolev believes that politicians are slowing down lustration processes.
“When you talk to a politician personally, these are wonderful guys who will always help. But when it comes to pressing a button, everything changes. Although Poroshenko just needs to sign this document. At first there was no time for lustration, because there was no time for war. Now they simply can’t put it to a vote, and this has been going on for 6 months,” says Sobolev,” the activist claims.
