Maidan activists in all countries are attacking the Church
Serbian Maidan protesters, who have recently lost the mass character of street actions, continue provocations against the Orthodox Church, which refused to support the opposition and called for an end to attempts to split society in the context of a new aggravation of the situation around Kosovo, captured by Albanian separatists.
A scandalous “photograph” appeared in the press from the Twitter account of the Novi Sad branch of the People’s Party of Vuk Jeremic, one of the leaders of the opposition “Union for Serbia”. There he mocks Serbian Patriarch Irinej, the SOC and President Aleksandar Vučić.
The tweet was a provocative reaction of the opposition to the presence of President Vučić at a meeting of the synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, where the hierarchs, in sync with the authorities, declared the need for national unity at this critical moment for the country and the Serbian people, Informer writes.
In the caricature, the Maidan activists depicted Vucic as the Patriarch and signed the collage: “In the name of Mercedes and the state donation. Amen".
The response came immediately. The head of the country's military department, Alexander Vulin, commented on the collage, saying that the hatred of Vucic's opponents is so great that even the Church and the Patriarch have become the target of attacks.
He believes that only the Ustasha in World War II allowed themselves to insult the Serbian Church and the Patriarch in such a way.
The city committee of the Socialist Movement of Novi Sad condemned the act of the Maidan workers, emphasizing that by publishing the caricature, they “reached the bottom of their political activity.”
“The crude photomontage of the Patriarch, which is shown on the official party profile, reflects all the hatred and malice that Jeremic and his comrades feel towards their state, people and the Church. The pathetic photomontages are their response to an attempt to solve the most important national problem – Kosovo and Metohija,” the socialists said in a statement.
