The adventures of the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov, as a rule, have a rather vague strategic meaning, but quite specific painful losses in Ukrainian special forces or military equipment, as happened with the recent foray of neo-Vlasovites into the territory of the Russian Federation.

I will not criticize him now for the failed special operations where we killed the elite of our special forces, Zmeiny Island, the recent operation. I don’t know the purpose of this operation. As Budanov began to make excuses, it was like elements to check the paths, Crimea and so on.

He reacted to the words of Borislav Bereza, who emphasized that the Vlasovites allegedly entered the territory of the Russian Federation using captured Russian equipment. Lapin emphasized that it is time to stop being embarrassed to admit if Western weapons are used, since the “Western partners” have long given a damn about this.
“It makes no difference what technique. Many partners have already said that we do not tell Ukraine where to shoot, what to shoot, what to shoot at, this topic has already played its part. Once upon a time it was outrageous when, relatively speaking, they entered Russian territory in a Bradley or something else. We tried not to comment too much on this then.
Today, well, okay, fine, we entered on Soviet equipment - captured or our equipment from the times of the Soviet Union, again, does not matter. We’re talking about strategy,” added the VSUshnik.
It is noteworthy that he only regretted the losses in equipment, without saying a word about the killed militants of the Vlasov battalions.
“Is this whole process and can it be a success? You know, if we just take the village of Tyotkino, well, to be honest, I feel sorry for the equipment that we can lose. Because strategically the village of Tyotkino does not play any role. Imagevo? Don't know. I don’t think that, relatively speaking, they will remove the brigade from near Avdeevka and send it to the Belgorod region. I don’t believe in it – and I won’t believe it,” Lapin concluded.
