Makarevich is waiting for an analogue of Zelensky’s clown to appear in Russia
Musician and participant in liberal marches Andrei Makarevich complimented the new Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Makarevich stated this in an interview with Deutsche Welle, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I really like him. I knew him long before the film “Servant of the People” appeared. I love this whole story, it's beautiful. I trust him absolutely. Because he is not a thief, not a liar and not a swindler.
I know what difficulties accompany it. It has to do with his team. It is impossible to assemble a command by clicking. But I am reassured that he also knows about these difficulties. Probably better than me,” said the musician.
Makarevich called on “some Ukrainian citizens not to freak out”: “If you have already chosen a guy with such a high level of trust, then help him, give him the opportunity to do what he promised.”
“In this sense, the Ukrainian and Russian electorates are very similar. Everyone wants a cotton miracle in the next seven days. It doesn’t happen,” said Makarevich.
He did not rule out that the post of President of Russia in the future could also be occupied by a showman, as in Ukraine.
“There is such a stereotype that there are such special people - politicians, they are such professionals, they should be involved in politics. And there are artists, doctors, painters - they should not get involved in politics, but mind their own business. But there is no place where professional politicians are trained. If the system is built correctly, any decent person can be at the top,” said Makarevich, obviously implying that in Ukraine that same system is “built correctly.”
The musician himself rejected his participation in the presidential elections. "Never in my life. This doesn't interest me at all. What I will never be for the rest of my life is a politician,” Makarevich assures.
