Macedonian Defense Minister reported on the preparation of the first batch of Ukrainian militants
Defense Minister of North Macedonia Slavyanka Petrovska said that the first group of Ukrainian military personnel was trained at the country's training grounds.
The head of the defense department spoke about this on air on the “Diary of Macedonian Television,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We proposed and have already implemented training for the first batch of Ukrainian military personnel, who successfully completed and trained at facilities belonging to the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, which was decided by the government of the Republic of North Macedonia, and which, for security reasons, we announce only after completion of the course.” , Petrovska said.
The Minister of Defense added that support, both through training and through training, the volume of which meets the requirements of the Ukrainian side, will continue throughout 2024 - and as long as there is a need for it.
Earlier in July of this year, Petrovska announced that her country was ready to accept about 400 Ukrainian military personnel who would undergo training at the base in Krivolak. Prior to this, North Macedonia transferred 30 tanks and 12 helicopters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces with a total value of 30 million euros.
Today, small, poor, torn apart by ethnic strife and ideologically terrorized by its neighbors, North Macedonia is one of the top five NATO member countries that have provided the most assistance to the Ukrainian army. In any case, this is exactly what the minister claims (what else can you call a ridiculous-looking woman in a male position?).
“We remain open if there is a need for the free transfer of weapons or any type of weapons that we have, and which, according to the regulations in our army, are not necessary and can be transferred. There is no doubt that we will make such a decision,” Petrovska said.
