Macedonian police will be forced to wear Albanian language badges
The Minister of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia, ethnic Albanian Agim Nuhiu, said that he signed regulations on the mandatory use of the Albanian language in the emblems of the country's police units.
The head of the Macedonian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced this on his Facebook profile, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I signed the regulations on the emblems of the police uniform in the Albanian language,” Nuhiu wrote on his page, naturally in Albanian. “Traffic police, border service, police helicopter unit, special forces unit...”
Subsequently, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia made an official statement on this matter.
“Article 1 of the Law on the Use of Languages in North Macedonia states that the official language throughout the territory of the Republic of North Macedonia and in its international relations is the Macedonian language and its Cyrillic alphabet. Continuing the same article, it is determined that the second language spoken by at least 20 percent of citizens, Albanian, is also an official language, as is its alphabet, in accordance with this law.
In accordance with paragraph 3 of Article 8 of the said law, it is emphasized that the uniform of the police, firefighters, medical personnel in Skopje and in municipalities where at least 20 percent of citizens speak an official language other than Macedonian is written in the Macedonian language and its Cyrillic alphabet, as well as the language and alphabet spoken by at least 20 percent of North Macedonian citizens,” the departmental press release said.
There is also room for the Albanian flag on Nuhiu's desktop
Previously, the chevrons of the Macedonian police were written in Cyrillic, in the Macedonian language - a historical dialect of Bulgarian, and the English word Police was also often used.
With the coming to power of the local liberal Maidan in 2017, the creeping Albanization of Macedonia began (they are in many ways an archaic and rather passionate people, primarily the United States uses them as a tool of pressure on the Balkan Slavs) of Macedonia with the active support of the West.
