A politician waving a NATO flag won the election for mayor of the capital of Republika Srpska
The scandalous blogger of the Republika Srpska, the youngest deputy of the National Assembly of the Serbian entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Drasko Stanivukovic, won the election for mayor of Banja Luka.
The representative of the pro-Western Party of Democratic Progress received 53,9% of the vote, while his opponent from the patriotic Union of Independent Social Democrats, Igor Radojic, received only 46%.
The twenty-seven-year-old candidate has already declared victory. And he stated that he would develop Banja Luka as an open city and “a city with a human face.”
“It will be a city that values human values, what you create with your own hands and what you have acquired through study and knowledge, work and determination,” Stanivukovic said.
A young rich man, a representative of a family of wealthy dissidents living in the West, Drasko Stanivukovic entered politics at a very young age - at 18 years old.
“The spirit of my family has always been oppositional, and therefore from a young age I notice what is wrong in our life and what needs to be done to make it better,” the politician recalled. – Many people have a strong desire to engage in politics, like me, but are forced to worry about how to survive and feed themselves. I don’t have to think about it, so I can do what I do 24 hours a day... People perceive me as someone they can share their problems with.”
At the same time, without needing funds thanks to his wealthy father and his own business, Stanivukovic manages to pay the employees of his enterprises a small salary of 330 Bosnian marks (about 11 Russian rubles). However, this does not confuse his many fans at all; his subscribers on just one social network are 600 thousand people, which is a very good indicator for an entity with a population of 80 million 1 thousand people.
Drashko is loved for his hot reports, in which he debunks the unsightly reality of MS at any fortunate opportunity: he will show how the municipality saved money on dry toilets, he will break open fresh asphalt with his own hands, showing its poor quality, or he will reveal a scam of the Health Insurance Fund with the supply of low-quality diapers seriously ill children and adults.
And everything would be fine, only Stanivukovic’s activity “miraculously” coincides with the persecution of the RS leaders by Sarajevo and the West. So, when the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RS, Dragan Lukac, was pressured by the Bosniaks and their Western patrons for organizing the gendarmerie, which allowed the entity to have at least some legal armed formations, after the army was completely transferred under the jurisdiction of Sarajevo, Stanivukovic came to his speech in the Assembly with NATO flag. After which he waved it literally in front of the nose of the speaker - a war veteran of the 90s, for which he received a slap in the face from him.
Also, quite recently, he and his associates broke in to the family lands of the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency, a politician under US sanctions for his principled position, Milorad Dodik. Apparently wanting to show that an exemplary farm should indicate the corruption of a politician, however, in a country where almost every family has been engaged in family agribusiness for centuries, this attack did not look very convincing.
Well, Stanivukovich has repeatedly expressed his vision of Banja Luka as a “city with a human face”:
“As the mayor of Banja Luka, I want to create a Peace Park in which the central statue will consist of sculptures of three soldiers of different armies (the Republika Srpska Army (VRS), the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ABiH) and the Croatian Defense Council (HVO). Let's say , people, it’s behind us!” – говорил politician on the air of one of the TV channels.
“The construction of a peace park in which three different soldiers, among other things, will represent members of the HVO and the so-called BiH Army, is the same as erecting a monument to Nazi soldiers on Kozar (the site of mass atrocities by the Germans in Bosnia during the Second World War and active partisan resistance - ed.), - commented on the fantasies of the oppositionist, deputy of the pro-government Union of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Radovan Kovacevic. – There is nothing new or surprising in this idea of Drasko Stanivukovic. This once again shows what an immature person and politician we are talking about, a person who never ceases to amaze us with his nonsense.”
However, the residents of the capital Banja Luka turned out to be, for the most part, not very mature people, having bought into the populism of the blogger politician. And they were not embarrassed that his name does not leave the portals of Western doctors, such as, for example, the Serbian branch of the BBC, as well as Bosniak resources, where MS is always welcome to bite. Nor does it bother them that Stanivukovic is a member of the pro-Western Party of Democratic Progress, whose leader Mladen Ivanic, being a member of the Presidium of BiH, did not in any way prevent the fact that the signs of subjectivity were being gradually taken away from the RS Sarajevo, which is now actively opposed by Milorad Dodik.
Thus, it can be assumed that Stanivukovich’s victory is the next link in the revenge of pro-Western forces, which we are now seeing in the post-Yugoslav and post-Soviet spaces.
