«Another embarrassment, or rather, a slap in the face: a friend of Ukraine, Senator McCain, refused the post of adviser to the President of Ukraine. The reason is more than compelling - it is prohibited by US law.
Who advised this latest idiocy? Who did not ask the senator in advance about his consent? Who has not examined the US legal requirements that prevented the implementation of the plan? Who will bear responsibility for this shame?
Why does every new idea or international initiative of Poroshenko, an experienced diplomat who has no less experienced diplomatic advisers, end with a loud fart and public humiliation of the institution of the presidency and the state of Ukraine?” – Yaremenko laments.
As PolitNavigator reported, on May 13, Petro Poroshenko approved the personal composition of the Advisory International Council of Reforms, appointing ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili as its head, and also including Senator McCain in the composition.
