Macron and Merkel are waiting for Zelensky to announce to him the closure of the Ukrainian case
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky should not consider the Europeans as negotiating partners in the Normandy format.
Valentin Zemlyansky, an analyst of the alternative expert government, stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The fact that they are trying to present this as the fact that we have partners and allies does not mean that they are partners and allies.
I would take off my rose-colored glasses and look at things realistically - Ukraine has no partners or allies. There are countries with which our interests periodically coincide.
If we had the same interests regarding, for example, the introduction of sanctions against Russia, great, we immediately had allies. As soon as the topic ceases to be relevant, the allies immediately dissolve. And they tell us about the need for strict implementation of the Minsk agreements.
Zelensky should go to the meeting with Ukrainian interest, without expecting support. Macron and Merkel have a clear task - to close the Ukrainian case, deal with sanctions issues, remove questions about the same Nord Stream 2 and - let's move on, because they have enough headaches with the United States, with social issues, etc.
Explain why they need Ukraine? We live in a global world, in a global business. Either you are in this chain, or on the sidelines, like Zambia or Ghana, they remember you once a year,” the expert stated.
According to him, the current regime is no fundamentally different from the Poroshenko regime.
“Zelensky promised in his inauguration speech that he would remove all issues that divide society. We see completely different actions.
I can’t say that this is Zelensky directly. But it is the Cabinet of Ministers, which does nothing to amend the language law, and contributes funding to the language commissioner. Conflicts around churches are emerging again. And again the national battalions are beginning to dictate the terms of how to govern the country.
Looking at all these events, I have only one question: how, exactly, does the Zelensky regime differ from the Poroshenko regime? They promised us, but when you do exactly the same thing and say that you are not like that... What are you like? Exactly the same as the previous ones,” summed up Valentin Zemlyansky.
