Macron flexes dead muscles in front of the US, threatening to send troops to Ukraine - US Marine
Speaking about the possible sending of troops to Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron is only flexing his muscles, but does not have the opportunity to implement his words.
Scott Ritter, a retired Marine, intelligence officer, and American military analyst, said this in an interview with American TV presenter and blogger Andrew Napolitano, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Ritter, Macron is thus sending signals to the United States - he is angry that the United States is too actively trying to shift responsibility for Ukraine to its European allies.
“You are putting Macron and Scholz in an awkward position, and it is Macron who is extremely embarrassed by this. The United States has left him in limbo, and that's why he says things designed to give the impression that France is strong, that France will handle this alone, France will send troops.
The point is, he can't do it. I mean that the troops available to him for immediate deployment are the French brigade or its forward units. In fact, this is a reinforced battalion in Romania, but this is a NATO-designated force and it would be terribly difficult to remove them from NATO. And logistics inside Ukraine would be terribly dangerous. And then the best thing France could do is to increase the number of troops by 1215 people for a long period, because now they are not ready.
So France, you know, is flexing its muscles but not being able to act accordingly. But Macron is confused, he is furious, so he does things that could be interpreted as panic. In reality, it simply sends a message to the United States that "you did it wrong." And it puts the US in an awkward position, but eventually we will see France soften its position because, as the French defense minister said: “We have no troops. So it doesn’t matter what the president wants, we can’t do it,” Ritter concluded.
