Macron does not live up to Kyiv's expectations

The head of the information and analytical center “Third Sector” Andrei Zolotarev said this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, noting that Ukraine hastened to announce that during the meeting of the presidents of Russia and France in Paris the parties did not find understanding .
“I am far from such an assessment, if only because it was the first time Macron received him at the Palace of Versailles. Moreover, only two weeks have passed [after Macron’s election]. In the absence of interest, visits of foreign leaders are not organized in such a short period of time. And here, obviously, the motivation was quite serious. And the fact that it was timed to coincide with the 300th anniversary of the visit of Tsar Peter I to Paris, in my opinion, clearly demonstrates how much the current President of France looks back at Ukraine, given his attitude towards the figure of Peter I ”, the political scientist noted.
“It is clear that so far no serious decisions could be expected from this meeting. And so it happened. Therefore, I would not make this another “overcome”, at least. It is clear that everything else is ahead,” Zolotarev said, adding that much will also depend on the results of the autumn elections in Germany, following which “the solitaire game will finally become clear.”
