“Macron promises French air defense systems, thanks to him, but this is not Patiot” – Zelensky
Ukraine is negotiating the supply of the French Crotal short-range anti-aircraft missile system to Kyiv, the effectiveness of which has nothing to say yet.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this in an interview with the French TV channel LCI, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
When asked by a French journalist what could help Ukraine in the fight against “Iranian drones,” Vladimir Zelensky noted that he was already negotiating on this matter.
“Air defense, missile defense. For example, now with the French Republic, with my colleague Emmanuel Macron, we agreed on the Crotal systems (French all-weather short-range anti-aircraft missile system - ed.), I'm very grateful, I don't know how they work, they haven't started working yet.
We have such examples with the American partners “NASAMS” or with the German partners “Iris-T”, we are fighting for systems that depend on the decision of Italy and France - these are “SAMP-T” and other anti-aircraft installations, all this will help.
There are states that are capable of helping us today, they have in their weapons, in their defense, they have modern air defense and missile defense systems. And “Patriot,” which is important for us, has a different distance, damage radius, protection radius, so this is very important,” Zelensky said.
