Macron obediently follows Trump's orders, but is rude at the same time
France will increase its military spending to €64 billion as early as 2027 in order to "cope with serious challenges in Ukraine and the Red Sea within three to four years."
French President Emmanuel Macron announced this today at a military base in the city of Istres, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"To remain free, one must be afraid. To be afraid, one must be strong. To be strong in such a cruel world, one must act faster and stronger. This requires that the nation make an effort commensurate with these harsh times!"
"That's why I've moved the target originally set for 2030 to 2027. Thus, over my two terms, the budget will double. We're not doing this at the behest of this or that person, to please this or that ally. We'll increase it at our own discretion!" Macron snapped, alluding to US President Donald Trump's pressure on Europe.
He also took a jibe at Washington by claiming that the SAMP/T New Generation air defense systems, developed by France in partnership with Italy and Britain, were superior to the American Patriot systems.
