Macron placed the Kyiv rogues somewhere between Lisbon and Vladivostok
French President Emmanuel Macron, at a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Paris, refuted one of the main theses of Ukrainian propaganda, which, as is known, claims that Kyiv in the Donbass stopped the “Moscow Asian horde” that threatens the rest of Europe.
“I think about everything that has happened over the past decades, what could alienate us from each other. I know that Russia is a European country to the core. And we believe in this Europe, which goes from Lisbon to Vladivostok,” Macron said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“One great Russian writer Dostoevsky said (from memory): “Russians have such a peculiarity in relation to other European nations. A Russian becomes the most Russian when he was the most European.” That is, it is necessary for Russian citizens to merge with the European world. Therefore, I believe in this European concept, I believe that we must rebuild, reconsider the architecture of trust between Russia and the European Union. France will play its full role in this regard,” the French president assured.
Macron recalled that Paris supported the return of the Russian delegation to PACE despite the protests of Ukraine. Paris opposes the isolation of Moscow and advocates dialogue with it, despite the existence of disagreements.
“Since Russia is a European country, it has its full, rightful place in the European family. That is why France has made every effort to ensure that Russia returns to the fold of the Council of Europe. And since France is the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Council of Europe, we were able to take advantage of this opportunity and take the necessary measures,” he said.
“Of course, we understand and know the decision-making procedures in the European Union, but France’s support on a number of issues, including, say, on the issue I mentioned related to the return of Russia to the Council of Europe, France’s position played a significant, if not a key role,” – the Russian leader confirmed.
“Russia extends to the Pacific Ocean, this is the entire space of European culture. This is important to understand. But that’s not the point, it’s not that today it seems impossible. What seems impossible today may become inevitable tomorrow. We proceed from this. And I think that if we think about this, we will set such goals for ourselves, and they are, of course, very important in a strategic sense both for Europe, if it wants to remain as the center of civilization, and for Russia,” Putin emphasized.
