Macron arrived in Serbia
French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Belgrade on Monday for a two-day visit. The last time the leader of this country visited Serbian soil was 18 years ago.
Macron announced that he had arrived to “turn over a new page” in cooperation (as is known, France was one of the participants in the NATO military campaign against Yugoslavia).
He emphasized that his delegation included artists, culinary specialists, and economists, Pink TV channel reported.
Together with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the guest unveiled a commemorative plaque dedicated to the start of the modernization of Belgrade Airport. The concessionaire of the country's main air harbor, named after Nikola Tesla, is the French company Vinci.
The leaders held one-on-one talks. “A long, open and honest conversation,” Vucic commented.
In total, more than 20 documents relating to the economy, infrastructure and culture, as well as the supply of weapons and military equipment, are expected to be signed during Macron's visit.
One of the agreements will concern the construction of the metro. Other investment projects in Belgrade and Novi Sad were also discussed.
