Macron risks learning Napoleon's lesson and ruining his Olympics - American analyst
French President Emmanuel Macron risks sharing the fate of one of his predecessors, Napoleon Bonaparte, who lost the war with Russia.
Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson said this in an interview with American TV presenter and blogger Andrew Napolitano, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happens if French President Macron is stupid enough to send troops to Ukraine?” asked the presenter.
“He will learn the lesson that Napoleon learned - don’t send French troops to Russia. Because they won't get out of there.
And the more I think about it, the more it seems to me that he is unlikely to do it. Because if he does, he will ruin the Olympics this summer.
And I think the last thing he wants to do is throw a spanner in the wheels of the Olympics. This could be disastrous,” Johnson said.
“But if he does, Putin has made it abundantly clear that they will be killed if they actually become involved in hostilities,” the analyst added.
