Macron climbed onto the bridge of the Titanic and will soon fall off - expert
The re-election of current head of state Emmanuel Macron as President of France can be compared to his election as captain of the Titanic, which will inevitably sink.
Political scientist Armen Gasparyan stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator.
According to Gasparyan, Macron is unlikely to be able to complete his presidential term due to growing internal contradictions in France.
“For us, Macron’s re-election is neither good nor bad. You need to understand that Macron in this case is like the chosen captain of the Titanic before sailing - there will still be an economic crisis in Europe, and I have no confidence that Macron will survive until the end of his term,” Gasparyan said.
Macron’s competitor, the leader of the National Rally, Marine Le Pen, who is considered pro-Russian, who during the debate called Russia’s actions in Ukraine unacceptable, thus tried to attract more voters to her side, the political scientist notes:
“You need to understand that before the elections they must take into account the characteristics of the electorate, and they are excited, because absolutely all the media write about Russia, about the fact that we are disgusting and so on. Therefore, of course, some critical thoughts must follow. There is no such thing as a pro-Russian politician, and one should not expect that this will suddenly happen in France.”
