“Small bug, but stinky” – Zelensky is threatened with uprising on Maidan
In the center of Kyiv, on the Maidan of Independence, a rally of supporters of ex-president Petro Poroshenko took place, protesting against liberation ex-chief of the First Slavic Air Defense Brigade of the DPR Vladimir Tsemakh.
The corresponding video was published on his YouTube channel by Kiev blogger Vladimir Filippov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
During the action, about hundreds of activists unfurled posters depicting a red line, which symbolized a warning to current President Vladimir Zelensky.
“This action is not political, it is an action of you and me – the people of Ukraine, so now everyone can speak out. The action is called “Red Line”. What is happening in the state now is not clear to many of us. We are telling the new government about “red lines” that cannot be crossed.
Today it was done. Tsemakh was released - a criminal, a separatist, an enemy, a man suspected of destroying MH17 and killing almost three hundred people. He is an outright enemy who fought against Ukraine. This is enough for an arrest. In the matter of the release of our prisoners, the authorities are taking steps with signs of betrayal of all the people who die for Ukraine,” said one of the organizers of the event.
Protesters compared the release of the ex-DPR commander by a Ukrainian court to high treason, which could lead to new “popular” uprisings.
“Today, when we heard the news about Tsemakh’s release, it came as a shock. Someone didn’t understand who Tsemakh was. This name was heard for several days. Today concrete actions are already associated with it. Personally, when I wrote the publication, there simply came a moment when I could not sit and watch, like you all, what was happening here. There was no goal to organize this action, everything happened on the fly. I wanted to tell the current government that we exist. No one sits and no one just tweets or posts outrage on Facebook, but we can gather in three or four hours to express our civic position,” another activist added.
“I hope that we can be heard on Bankovaya. If you can’t hear, then we will do it tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, at any moment, so that the whole country can hear!” he threatened.
After this, the protesters sang the Ukrainian anthem and, in addition to the standard Maidan slogans, began chanting: “Get beyond the red line,” “Tsemakh into custody,” and “No to high treason.”
We would like to remind you that formerly a deputy from European Solidarity Victoria Syumar threatened Vladimir Zelensky, comparing him to former presidents Leonid Kuchma and Viktor Yanukovych, whose attempts to expand their own powers ended with the Orange Revolution and Maidan.
