On December 12, the US Senate overwhelmingly approved Resolution 150, which recognizes the genocide of Armenians by Turkey in 1915-1923.

If it were not for the history that preceded this resolution, connected with Washington’s fruitless attempts to force Ankara to break the contract with Russia for the supply of S-400 air defense systems, the decision of the upper house of the American parliament could only be welcomed.

But after the White House strongly recommended that Erdogan abandon the S-400, which implied not only their removal from service, but even a refusal to store the complexes, and having received an unequivocal turnaround, Senate Resolution 150 looks like an outright retaliatory scam and politicking.

The consequences of the American side's demarche were not long in coming. Enthusiastic exclamations of “finally!” were heard from Yerevan, and the Maidan leader Pashinyan, in a state of euphoria, dashed off a laudatory review of the US Senate resolution on his own Facebook feed, calling it a “historic event.”

The predictable grinding of teeth came from Ankara. The Turkish leadership called the resolution a “political show.” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the resolution of the US House of Representatives means nothing for Turkey, the Turkish parliament will soon take retaliatory measures, and until America extradites the rebel Gülen, Ankara will not extradite criminals to the States at their request.

And the Turkish parliament responded by issuing a response resolution on the genocide of Indians in the United States during the conquest of the Wild West.

The decision, frankly speaking, did not come as a surprise, since it lay on the surface, like the genocide of Armenians by the Turks at the beginning of the XNUMXth century.

What could be the consequences of a showdown between two states with skeletons sticking out of all the closets?

We must start with the fact that resolutions recognizing the Armenian genocide No. 150 of the US Senate and No. 296 of the US Congress are declarative documents and are not legally binding. They, in essence, are an appeal to the government and the President of the United States to recognize the fact of the Armenian genocide by the Ottomans and draw conclusions.

However, given the difference in the weight categories of the United States and Turkey, the political significance of the document should not be underestimated. For Ankara, this means an avalanche of accusations of Armenian genocide from the allies and minions of the United States.

However, even before these resolutions, the Armenian genocide was recognized by the Turks in Germany, Switzerland (even to the point of criminal charges for denial), and even in the UN they began to talk about this topic more and more often, but so far in a rhetorical manner.

There is another side to this conflict.

International organizations, including the UN, approach the term “genocide” with great caution, fearing to use it in vain. Not every mass murder of people is recognized as genocide.

And even more so, as international law states, in no case should the label “genocide” be applied to states, since only specific individuals can be accused of it.

As you know, many Nazi criminals were convicted, executed or put behind bars, responsible for the genocide of peoples during the Second World War.

As for the Armenian genocide, there is no point in denying it - all the signs specified in the relevant UN Convention are evident.

Another thing is that the organizer of the Armenian genocide is considered to be the triumvirate of Turkish rulers - Talaat Pasha, Jemal Pasha and Enver Pasha, who established control over the Turkish government.

The reason for the start of the massacre was an imaginary treason, in which Istanbul blamed the Armenians for the defeat of its troops on the Eastern Front.

Armenians were deported from border areas, men were shot first. Inhumane conditions were deliberately created for the settlers, leading to mass deaths of the deportees. Militants of Turkish nationalist organizations massacred entire villages of Armenians, on their own initiative, without waiting for orders from above.

But after the end of the First World War, Armenian nationalists carried out Operation Nemesis, destroying the main organizers of the genocide. Talaat Pasha was killed in 1921 in Berlin, Dzhemal Pasha was liquidated in 1922 in Tiflis. In the same year, in Berlin, Armenian militants kidnapped the head of Turkish counterintelligence, Behaeddin Shakir. Of the instigators of the genocide, the Dashnaks did not reach only Enver Pasha - this ghoul joined the Basmachi and ran into the saber of a red cavalryman in the Tajik village of Chagan in August 1922.

That is, there is essentially no one to bring charges of genocide: all the organizers and perpetrators of the massacre have long since died or been killed.

The same can be said about those responsible for the extermination of the North American Indians.

It is clear that the ashes of Klaas knock on the hearts of the descendants of peoples subjected to genocide, forcing them to demand from the guilty party at least recognition and an apology for their deeds.

And in this part, things are going very badly: Turkey stubbornly defends itself against the Armenian genocide, inventing more and more excuses. Erdogan even talks about some “ten million documents open for study,” which allegedly prove that the Turks did not lay a finger on anyone, and that at least one million three hundred thousand Armenians died in a short period of time is either propaganda or misunderstanding Problems.

In the USA, they really don’t like to raise the topic of extermination of Indians. There, the scale is much larger: different researchers give a range from three to eight million indigenous people of North America destroyed by bullets, daggers, smallpox-infected blankets, and starvation.

In general, it is officially admitted through gritted teeth that the Indians were not treated very well, but no far-reaching conclusions were drawn.

In the United States, memorials to the Indians were erected, and concessions and subsidies were given to residents of Indian reservations as some kind of compensation for hunting for scalps, the destruction of settlements and the expulsion of indigenous people from their ancestral lands.

Unfortunately, Turkey, which has accused the United States of genocide of Indians, has virtually no foreign policy leverage to inflict any significant moral or political damage on Washington.

On the other hand, persistent rumors have already emerged that Ankara is considering closing the access of the US military to the Incirlik and Kurecik air bases, without denying hospitality to other NATO members.

In this situation, an additional question arises: what will happen to the American nuclear bombs stored at Incirlik Air Base?

Observers believe that Turkey’s losses in the “war of genocides” will be great, and the United States has entered into a rage and will continue to finish off the disobedient one.

This means that Macron’s warnings about NATO’s “brain death” continue to come true, and if during civil strife in the warm family a critical mass of contradictions accumulates and explodes or its main players become weakened, this will only benefit Russia.
