He stated this while answering a question from the host of the “High Life” program Katya Osadchaya about what and how the Minister of Finance saves.
“Now on everything, because my situation has changed significantly. Before the start of winter, we did everything to save on both gas and electricity. We insulated the windows, put a layer of insulation in the ceiling, we are doing everything to reduce the waste of gas and electricity,” Yaresko shared.
“I grew up in America and there is a different approach to purchasing either clothes or shoes. I have never bought designer items and never will. This is not my approach. I grew up in the middle class in America and there is a middle class approach,” said the Minister of Finance, adding that he always had a Ukrainian heart and she was proud of her passport.
The American minister also spoke frankly about her life. As it turned out, Yaresko absolutely does not know how to cook.
“I've never cooked. In general, I don’t like it and I’m not a very good cook. I have one nanny who has been working with me for 10 years, that’s all. We have a very modest house. It looks big, but inside it is very modest, the style is between American and Ukrainian. Another woman helps me clean it once a month, and we do the rest with the children ourselves,” says the Minister of Finance.
