This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv.
According to the mother, she and her son went for an evening walk. At first the boy was playing on the playground in the yard, and a little later he reported that he saw a grenade in the grass.
Law enforcement officers and explosives specialists arrived at the scene.
“Explosive technicians examined an object similar to a military grenade and discharged it. The body and fuse were sent for expert examination to the Scientific Research Expert and Forensic Center at the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Kiev,” the message says.
Based on this fact, criminal proceedings have been opened under Part 1 of Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). An inspection is currently underway.
