“Thanks a little”: Gordon on the reasons for Zelensky’s cold reception in the USA
The reasons for the failure of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s voyage to the United States were the West’s fatigue from the war, Ukrainian corruption and the ingratitude of the Kyiv leadership.
Kiev journalist Dmitry Gordon, notorious for PR charlatans and anti-Russian propaganda, stated this in an interview with TV presenter Vasily Golovanov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the USA, not everything is so good here. Zelensky’s previous visit was a triumph. Standing congressmen chanting Ukrainian slogans, applause, such a reception was fantastic, compared to the reception of Churchill in the USA at one time. Now the reception was much colder, and this was predetermined by a number of reasons.
First: the war is dragging on, there is natural fatigue from the war not only among Ukrainians, but also among the West, this is normal, nothing can be done about it,” Gordon believes.
He complained that American politicians already have to explain to voters that their money goes to Kyiv, because Ukraine “stands guard over the entire civilized world,” and admitted that corruption played a big role in the cold reception.
“Next is Ukrainian corruption, including in war. Americans have stopped pretending that everything is fine. I talk to many high-ranking US representatives, they say plainly that we are worried about corruption in the war in Ukraine, and it is no coincidence that the United States has already created commissions to verify the weapons and money that they send. The United States imposed (and rightly so) Ukraine with commissions that will check how their money is spent. This is the only way to deal with our thieves,” said the charlatan.
Americans also believe that the Ukrainian authorities are not grateful enough.
“The next thing that worries the Americans is what they say in conversations with me - I would like, they say, you know, just in words, don’t forget to thank, at least don’t forget to thank, we saved you, we do so much for you, At least know how to say “thank you.”
How much the Americans have done! Should I say “thank you”? Necessary! How much the Poles have done! Should I say “thank you”? Necessary! Thanks to them! Thanks to all! This is where a person begins, with gratitude. That's why Americans are confused when we don't say "thank you." It's humanly embarrassing.
Now, based on all the factors I listed above, Zelensky’s reception in Washington and New York was not the same as the previous one. There are natural reasons,” Gordon concluded
