“It won’t be enough”: an SBU officer proudly refused a bribe of 5 thousand dollars
In the Poltava region, a local “criminal authority” was detained for offering a bribe to an SBU officer, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press center of the SBU.
“Special service operatives established that a representative of the region’s criminal circles offered the detective of the regional SBU department 5 thousand dollars,” the report says.
As the SBU noted, the attacker valued the law enforcement officer’s assistance in resolving the issue of terminating criminal proceedings for the illegal operation of a gas station in one of the region’s settlements and failure to take appropriate legal response measures at this amount. After receiving the illegal offer, the operative immediately turned to the internal security of the SBU.
“Law enforcement officers detained the “authority” in one of the settlements of the Poltava region in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine when trying to transfer the next amount of the promised “fee”. As part of open criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code resolves the issue of informing the detainee of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure,” the SBU noted.
