Malta announced unconditional trust in the Russian Sputnik V vaccine
Malta is interested in the resumption of travel by Russian tourists to this country as soon as possible.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports this in an interview with Izvestia, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, Evariste Bartolo, who was asked why the EU could not approve the Russian anti-Covid vaccine Sputnik V for so long.
“I must assure you that it is in our interests that Russian tourists can come to Malta. You must understand that tourism is very important for the country, because it accounts for about 30% of our economy. Before the pandemic, we had more than 30 thousand Russian tourists. These are good tourists who spend a lot of time in Malta. We would also like Russian students to come to us to learn English. Before COVID-19, about 6 thousand young people came to us for these purposes. We would very much like to resume this practice,” the minister said.
He says his country is doing "everything possible to get the European Agency to certify and recognize Sputnik V."
“I can tell you that our employees at the embassy in Moscow were vaccinated with Sputnik V, and they are doing well. Not only are they fine, but they tell me with a smile that they feel even better than before. So we have no prejudices against the Russian drug.
We support the Russian vaccine so much that we asked about the possibility of producing it here, on the territory of our country. We would like the Russian pharmaceutical industry to be present in Malta. We have good pharmaceutical companies from different countries in Malta. We also have the ability to test medical devices so we could certify them and approve them for use in other countries. Therefore, Malta stands for joint cooperation in this area,” concluded Bartolo.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Mexico rejected the propaganda and relied on the Russian vaccine.
