Mom Sobchak argued with Senator Mizulina about patriotism and corruption
In schools in St. Petersburg, patriotism lessons have been replaced with “anti-corruption” lessons, in which Russia is presented as a backward country. Senator Elena Mizulina announced this today at a meeting of the Federation Council.

“Children are asked to draw pictures of a pyramid where countries are ranked in a hierarchical order based on the level of corruption, and Russia is at the bottom on the same level as Uzbekistan. This is a very dangerous trend,” Mizulina said.
Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko proposed instructing the Education Committee to study the situation.
The senator from St. Petersburg and the mother of the glamorous TV presenter Sobchak, Lyudmila Narusova, reacted to this.
“If children and teachers want to be proud of their non-corrupt country, why is this unpatriotic? When Russia ranks somewhere behind African countries in the corruption rating, this is precisely unpatriotic. And trying to determine why Russia is in this situation is patriotism. You can love your homeland not only with a glossy picture in order to eliminate its shortcomings,” said Narusova.
She proposed that the Federation Council create “new platforms for dialogue between the authorities and civil society.”
“We may well not hush up these problems and not be like the federal channels that did not say anything about what happened on Sunday,” Narusova said.
Matvienko had to make excuses.
“Elena Borisovna is not against talking about the fight against corruption in schools. This must be done. It’s just that the lessons of patriotism are being replaced, so I asked the relevant committee to check it. Regarding your suggestions, I agree that you can't bury your head in the sand. I support the proposal to instruct the Committee on Constitutional Legislation to prepare proposals for creating broader platforms for dialogue with broad sections of society. Such dialogue does not happen without enough,” Matvienko said.
As PolitNavigator reported, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko scolded Ksenia Sobchak's mother for her cell phone.
